Romanian authorities have prepared 48,600 for voters in Moldova. The Moldovans that hold Romanian citizenship can vote at the referendum on Sunday, July 29, with their Romanian passport or ID card. Romanian tourists or those on working trips can vote at the polling stations in Moldova as well, Info-Prim Neo.
Besides their ID card or passport, Romanian citizens who are in Moldova on duty can vote presenting either a diplomatic or a service passport.
There will be 14 polling stations opened for the referendum regarding the removal from office of Romanian President Traian Basescu. Three will be in Chisinau, and one in each of the following towns: Causeni, Hancesti, Ialoveni, Cantemir, Orhei, Soroca, Nisporeni, Calarasi, Balti, Cahul and Ungheni. The addresses of the polling stations can be found on the webpage of the Romanian Embassy in Moldova. Most of the ballot papers will be allotted for Chisinau: 10,000 for each station.
On July 29, the Romanians are called to vote for or against the removal from office of Romanian President Traian Basescu. A previous impeachment was initiated against him in 2007 for violations of the Constitution.
The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a hot line, 0800800407, where Romanian citizens abroad can obtain useful information on the referendum. The line is available round-the-clock until Monday, July 30.
