Romanian Army veterans and former deportees support Victor Ponta in elections

The Association of War Veterans of the Romanian Army and the Association of Victims of the Communist Regime call on the voters to support Victor Ponta in the Romanian presidential elections. According to them, Victor Ponta is a powerful politician who will further support the Romanian citizens from Moldova through different projects.

In a news conference at IPN on October 29, veteran Nicolae Soitu said the Romanian citizens are coming closer to a very important event – the presidential elections. According to him, current Prime Minister Victor Ponta is the most suitable candidate for the post of President of Romania.

“I call on everyone to vote for this young and energetic candidate who has great potential to unify this territory (Moldova and Romania). I urge you to support him in the November 2, 2014 elections,” stated Nicolae Soitu.

Veteran Gheorghe Codita noted that Victor Ponta must govern Romania because he always supported and helped the Romanians, including those from over the Prut River, and he will definitely continue to support them.

Another veteran Ion Mahu stated that Victor Ponta showed that he is the key figure in Romania as he managed to do important things in a short period of time as Prime Minister. “I think that Victor Ponta will enjoy special support in Moldova and in this struggle he will win the post of head of state,” he said.

Deportee Irina Covaci said that, being a Romanian-Bessarabian, she will give her vote to Victor Ponta. “I will ask all those who can vote to support Victor Ponta,” she stated.

There are 14 candidates running in the presidential elections in Romania.
