The Republic of Moldova is an important partner of the EU and Romania will help it to integrate into the EU swifter, Valeriu Stefan Zgonea, President of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania, said in a meeting with Moldova’s Head of Parliament Igor Corman in Bucharest on September 30, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the legislative body, Igor Corman and Valeriu Stefan Zgonea pleaded for a pragmatic agenda between the two states and between the legislatures of the two countries. The President of the Chamber of Deputies reiterated that Romania will support Moldova in its European integration efforts.
The officials discussed the initiative to stage a sale-exhibition of Moldova wines in the Parliament of Romania in the near future. Valeriu Stefan Zgonea accepted Igor Corman’s invitation to pay a visit to Moldova soon.
While in Bucharest, the Moldovan Speaker had a meeting with the President of the Senate Crin Antonescu. Igor Corman said that the next meeting of the joint commission on European integration between the Parliament of Romania and the Parliament of Moldova will agree the priorities so as to put to good use the Romanian authorities’ experience in the European integration process.
