Romania is ready to share the experience it gained in the European integration process with Moldova, to the extent to which Moldova is willing to accept it, Romania’s Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu told President Vladimir Voronin at a meeting. The two officials met during the SEECP Summit in Zagreb. According to a communiqué by the Romanian government, at the meeting the two officials stressed the necessity of resuming the dialogue between the two states over issues of common interest. The Romanian Premier and the Moldovan President agreed that the Prime Ministers of the two countries should hold a meeting in Chisinau. The Moldovan presidential press service has earlier announced that the two officials discussed the prospects of developing the regional Southeast-European cooperation and the collaboration between Moldova and Romania. They also talked about the negative effects of Romania’s accession to the EU on Moldova, among which the abolition of the facilitated trade regime and the introduction of the visa regime for the Moldovan citizens. Tariceanu and Voronin highlighted the necessity of identifying viable solutions to these and other problems of common interest. The Tenth Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the South East Europe Cooperation Process (SEECP) took place in the Croatian capital, Zagreb. The summit of 2008 will take place in Chisinau.
