The Romanian Government is providing an additional €5 million to help Moldova rehabilitate pre-school institutions.

In 2014, Romania supported this program with €23 million, offered from a broader non-reimbursable aid package of €100 million provided under a 2010 agreement.

“The Romanian Government has welcomed the idea of supplementing the funds offered under this program with €5 million to be used for the same purpose”, stated Moldovan acting Foreign Minister Natalia Gherman at the Government's meeting.

Acting Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said the work to rehabilitate kindergartens would be mainly carried out in spring, and some €20 million more was needed to cover all costs. As Iurie Leanca understood from discussions with the Romanian Premier, there are chances this money will be offered, but negotiations can start only after a new Government is invested in Chisinau.
