Romania remained the only Moldova’s European partner that didn’t withdraw its support. Such statements were made in the program “European horizon” on TVR Moldova channel, IPN reports.

Petrisor Peiu, economic expert of the Black Sea University Foundation, said all the foreign partners decided to withdraw from Moldova. “The resignation of the Gaburici Government is not a reason for which the foreign partners decided to withdraw their support. The IMF does not accept the ignorance of its condition to liquidate the three banks involved in the stealing of billions of lei from the banking system. The World Bank announced its withdrawal after the two parties of the ruling coalition of Moldova said they are for nationalizing Banca de Economii. The European Union decided to withdraw after the Government rejected the bill to reform the national integrity system. Poland and Sweden, which are two important foreign backers of Moldova, expressed their dissatisfaction with the lack of reforms in the judicial system. Only Romania said nothing for now,” he stated.

Analyst Adrian Mitroi considers that Romania will not turn its back to Moldova in this difficult situation. “I think that Romania still can do something for Moldova at economic level. Romania can indeed do more for Moldova,” he said.

Moldovan political analyst Vasile Croitoru said the situation in Moldova became critical. “Our country has never had a minority government in the electoral period in its history. On the one hand, the powers of the acting Cabinet are limited. On the other hand, the local administrative bodies do not yet work,” he stated.
