The Government of Romania provided €150,000 for strengthening and developing the capacity of the Bureau of Migration and Asylum, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the Embassy of Romania in Chisinau.

Thus, the Bureau’s staff will be trained in the area of migration and will be familiarized with the best practices in this field of Romania. Moreover, a new methodology for the inland detection of illegal migration will be developed. Once it is endorsed by the government, there will be conducted training.

One of the immediately visible effects of the project will be the renovation of the Balti field office of the Bureau of Migration and Asylum.

The project “Strengthening and Development of the Institutional Capacity of the Bureau of Migration and Asylum” was officially launched on October 1, 2013. It will be implemented by the International Center for Migration Policy Development of Moldova during 12 months.
