Romania is greatest importer of Moldovan goods among EU countries

Moldovan exports to Romania nine months into this year amounted to $309.2 million, making it the first destination for Moldovan exports among EU countries. In the same period, Romanian exports to Moldova topped $558 million. As the Romanian Embassy said in a press release, Romania reiterates its support for Moldova's efforts to sign the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) with the European Union. The Romanian authorities expect that, with DCFTA's signing and entry into force, Moldova's exports to the EU will increase significantly, and in particular to Romania, to the benefit of both countries. The EU is the largest collective recipient of Moldovan exports: $721.1 as of September 2012.
