An orange code for floods was instituted for a number of rivers and rivulets of Romania which can affect several counties. Ion Cucenic, of Moldova’s Water Agency, has told Info-Prim Neo that Moldova does not face a danger of floods at the moment. According to the website of Mediafax, an orange code advisory was issued on March 10 for the rivers Crisului Negru – Valea Galbena, Crisul Pietros, Valea Rosie, Topa (Bihor county) and Sartis (Arad county). A similar warning was issued for other rivers on March 11. Ion Cucenic said only the internal rivers of Romania can flood because of the latest precipitation and the melting snow in the Carpathians. He also said that he discussed with specialists from Romania and Hungary, who confirmed that there are no risks of floods on the Nistru and the Prut. Weather forecasters said there will be sleet in parts of the country this week. The layer of snow melted practically all over Moldova. There is snow only in the northern districts.
