The Prime Minister of Romania Dacian Ciolos confirmed Romania’s support for the modernization efforts of Moldova, aimed at implementing the reform agenda and especially at promoting the European course. Acting Prime Minister Gheorghe Brega had a telephone discussion with Dacian Ciolos in the evening of December 2. The Romanian Premier voiced hope that the current political crisis in Moldova will not last long and a functional government will be soon voted in to firmly continue the democratic reforms and to ensure a clear European perspective for Moldova, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, the officials conferred on the developments in the two states and at international level. Gheorghe Brega thanked the Romanian authorities for the support provided to Moldova on its path to development.

The interlocutors also discussed the utilization by Moldova of the €100 million offered by Romania in assistance and the promised loan of €150 million. Dacian Ciolos said he assumes all the commitments made in the joint meeting of the Governments of the two states and the promised money will be allocated shortly after a democratic and pro-reform government is invested in Chisinau.
