Romania decided to close on a temporary basis a number of state border crossing points with reduced traffic of persons so as to increase the personnel at the points with heavier traffic. On the border with Moldova, there were closed the frontier posts Rădăuți Prut and Oancea, IPN reports, with reference to the Embassy of Romania.
The decision was taken as a result of the March 12 meeting of the National Committee for Special Emergency Situations of Romania. The work of the following border crossing points will be suspended: Negru Vodă, Lipnița, Dobromir, Zimnicea, Turnu Măgurele și Bechet (Bulgaria); Porțile de Fier 2, Moldova Nouă, Foieni, Lunga, Vâlcan, Drobeta Turnu Severin și Naideș (Serbia); Turnu Săcuieni, Salonta and Valea lui Mihai (Hungary) and Sighet (Ukraine).
The persons who intend to travel to Romania or to cross Romania are asked to inform themselves beforehand about the state border transit possibilities.
