Romania’s National Day is celebrated on December 1. The Romanian Ministry of National Defense stages a national military parade in Bucharest and this will involve a contingent of the National Army of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
On December 1, 2023, it has been 105 years of the Great Union as a result of which the state Romania was practically formed so that different events are held in Bucharest and in other cities to celebrate the event, primarily military parades.
The day starts with a military and religious ceremony of wreath laying at the Grave of the Unknown Soldier in Carol I Park, in memory of Romanian heroes who died on the battlefield to fulfill national ideals.
The military parade will be held at 11:00 a.m in the Arch of Triumph Square in Bucharest and will involve over 2,400 militaries and specialists of the Ministry of National Defense, the Interior Ministry, the Romanian Intelligence Service, the Special Telecommunications Service and the National Penitentiary Administration, as well as about 250 foreign militaries detached by Belgium, France, Northern Macedonia, Moldova, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Spain, the U.S. and the Netherlands and militaries from allied countries contributing to NATO bodies in Romania.
The Republic of Moldova detached to the parade 17 militaries of the Guard of Honor who will march in the Arch of Triumph Square in Bucharest. The contingent is led by Major Pavel Lysyi, while the state flag is carried by soldier Marius Gutium.
The military technology parade is made up of 130 pieces of equipment, while the air component includes 40 Romanian military aircraft, 23 of which are land and air military equipment of participating foreign militaries.
After the official ceremony, the public will be able to visit stands of military vehicles that will remain in the area until 2:00 p.m.
The events in Bucharest end at 7:00 p.m. with the withdrawal of militaries of “Mihai Viteavul” Guard Brigade 30, bearing torches on the route Palace of the National Military Circle – Victoria Avenue – Parliament Palace – Cotroceni Palace- brigade headquarters.
