Romania approves agreement on provision of €100m to Moldova

The Government of Romania approved the agreement on the provision of €100 million in non-reimbursable assistance to Moldova that was considered in the joint meeting of the Governments of Romania and Moldova held in Chisinau on February 11, IPN reports.

“The €100 million in non-reimbursable financial assistance will become available to the Government of the Republic of Moldova. The agreement is the main element of support for the Republic of Moldova’s sustainable development efforts and, surely, the efforts to do reforms and for the European course of the Republic of Moldova,” the Prime Minister of Romania Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă stated in the meeting of the Government of Romania.

Under the agreement, Romania and the Republic of Moldova will together take the measures needed to implement projects that will contribute to strengthening cooperation, developing the strategic partnership for the European integration and connection of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union. They will promote the reform process in the European spirit, support the European integration process of Moldova, stimulate the development, reduction of economic and social disparities and increase Moldova’s resilience to destabilizing factors.
