The Liberal Party (PL) does not have chances to take part in governance, but it is offered the chance to have a special relationship with the head of the Cabinet if the Liberal MPs vote for the Leanca Government, political analyst Roman Mihaes said in the talk show “Place for dialogue” on the public station Radio Moldova, IPN reports.

According to Mihaes, there are practically no chances for the PDM and PLDM to return to the negotiating table with the PL. “The game was already played. It’s clear that the two parties want to govern in the “2+1” format, with this “1” to be flexible - one time the PL and the next time the PCRM. In the previous talks between the PDM, PLDM and PL, there appeared serious disagreements that hinder the formation of a ruling alliance with the Liberals. These refer to the post of prosecutor general, distribution of the ministerial portfolios, election of the head of state and the territorial-administrative reform. I don’t think that the three parties will reach a compromise to be able to govern together,” said the analyst.

He also said that one more reason that makes a PLDM-PDM-PL ruling coalition impossible is the ‘war’ between the PDM and PL. “Mihai Ghimpu started a kind of war against the mafia, with direct attacks against heavyweights of the PDM. In such conditions, it is hard to hold talks,” he stated.

However, Roman Mihaes noted that the three parties have one thing in common, which is the European integration. “So, the PL already has one reason to vote for the Leanca Government so as to ensure the continuation of the European course. The Liberal Party could even sign a political agreement with Iurie Leanca so as to lay down a number of conditions that will have to be met by the future Cabinet, like the fight against corruption and the implementation of the Association Agreement. Thus, the Liberals will be later able to justify themselves before the voters for assuming responsibility by voting in the Government,” he said.
