The visit by the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin to Chisinau and then to Tiraspol is not a good signal for Moldova, analysts Oazu Nantoi and Petru Bogatu stated in the talk show “Emphasis on today” on TVR Moldova channel, IPN reports.

“Rogozin’s duty in Moscow is to act as the buffoon of the monarch. Besides amusing the master, this can say some things that the other courtiers do not dare to say. The fact that he this time changed the tone is a dangerous signal. His goal is to take us in. A danger is pending as regards the next round of talks in the 5+2 format,” he stated.

Oazu Nantoi also considers that the Russian official’s visit to Moldova is not welcome. “It is an attempt by the state captured by Plahotniuc to build bridges with Russia. Russia treats the former Soviet republics not as sovereign states, but as territories that temporarily got out of control. We should not get drunk with cold water and applaud Rogozin for the possible restoration of relations with Moscow. The main goal of Rogozin’s visit is to solve the problem of the military in Transnistria, which is actually an occupation army,” said the analyst.

Nantoi noted that he is waiting for reactions from political parties, including those who say that they are defenders of the statehood. “Where are our statehood defenders? Can the statehood be guaranteed with the Russian bayonets in the ribs?” he asked.
