No buses and trolleybuses run on routes in Chisinau owing to the snowy roads. Practically all the streets turned into pedestrian ones, while the private units of transport move with difficulty.
Contacted by IPN, head of the press service of the Chisinau City Hall Vadim Branzaniuc said there are broken trees on almost all the bus and trolleybus lines. Several buses set out on routes, but got stuck soon given that the roads are impassable.
Director of the Chisinau Electric Transport Company Gheorghe Morgoci said the high voltage power lines all over the city were damaged by falling trees and the trolleybuses cannot run. Several trolleybuses set off, but became blocked and remained on routes in the city. Parts of the trolleybus lines were broken. The passersby are urged not to touch the broken electrical cables.
