Road repairs in Chisinau delayed by rains

Routine contract proceedings and rains are two factors delaying the asphalt-laying activities in Chisinau, Mayor Dorin Chitoaca told today's meeting of the City Council, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to municipal transportation chief Veaceslav Tarna, one month ago road workers removed the old asphalt from 30,000 square meters of roads and this is where the repair activities should start from. Municipal contracts for road repairs were won by the companies Exdrupo and Edilitate, which carried out such works in previous years. The works require several hundreds of millions of lei, but the municipal authorities can allocate only 55 million.
