Road police made 500 reports for non-fasten of seatbelts and dark windscreen

More than 500 reports were made by Road Police of the capital in 13 days of March, referring to non-fasten of seatbelts and dark windscreen. Violation of the road regulations was noted within the operation „Seatbelt-saving life” and „Darkness”, organised in March. The inspector of the road security, administrative supervision and public relations service of Chisinau Road Police, Ion Roscovanu, said that according to provisions of the Administrative Code and Road Rules, fasten of the seatbelt is compulsory for drivers and passengers of their right. Exception is case when it is done the manoeuvre of back driving, driving courses trainers while trainings, and cars with priority while working mission. In the same time, the survey made by the specialised services of Road Police shows that in 85-90 cases of accidents the seatbelt saves the life of that person. The number of persons dead per 100 victims of the accidents is 12,2 and is explained, he noted, by the fact that the seatbelt was not fasten. Referring to operation „Darkness”, including founding and dismantling of the dark windscreen and side windows, Ion Roscovanu mentioned that eliminating the darkness is based on the article 122, point E of the Road Regulation, which „forbidden the darkness of windscreen and side windows”. Since 1 to 13 March there were registered 235 reports for non-fasten of seat belt and 274 for dark windows.
