The movement of the large trucks of the cement factory “Lafarge Ciment” may be redirected to a bypassing road, outside Ciorna village and Rezina town. The Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure Vasile Botnari, while on a working visit to Rezina district, agreed with the local public authorities and the administration of “Lafarge Ciment” to take concrete steps to solve the problems faced by the residents of this village, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the Ministry.
Vasile Botnari said the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure considers that the optimal solution to this problem, which became acute owing to the damage caused by the heavy trucks, is to restore an older road going from the cement factory along Papauti village, up to the Rezina-Soldanesti road.
“Besides the sanitary-ecological advantages, the given solution envisions also economic dividends for all the sides involved directly or indirectly in this problem. If the bypassing road is repaired according to modern technologies and standards, it will be more suitable for the investors as it is shorter and does not go through settlements. The problem of intense traffic of heavy trucks in Ciorna and Rezina will be also solved,” said Vasile Botnari.
He added that a feasibility study for repairing the Paputi – Tareuca road was already made. The repair works will cost about 67 million lei. Also, a road section of 3.5km to join this road must be built on the territory of the cement factory.
The participants in the discussions agreed to set up a working group under the State Road Administration, in concert with the local public authorities of Rezina and representatives of “Lafarge Ciment”. Within a week, the group will assess the possibilities of reconstructing this road and of involving the foreign investor from Rezina in implementing this project.
