The Republic of Moldova and Ukraine will build a road bridge over the Nistru River near Cosăuți and Yampil localities. An agreement to this effect was signed on Monday in Kyiv by Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Lilia Dabija and Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov, IPN reports.
According to Moldova’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, the road bridge on the border will interconnect the road infrastructure of the two states on the T-02-02 Mohyliv-Podilsky-Yampil-Kryzopil-Bershad-Uman (Ukraine) road and the national road R14.1 R14-Cosăuţi – the border with Ukraine (Moldova). The road network through eastern Moldova will be connected to the network of international circulation roads and trade on internal and international markets will be facilitated this way.
The Government of Ukraine will ensure financing for the technical project of the bridge, including its construction, and the building of related infrastructure on its territory, while the Government of the Republic of Moldova will build the related road infrastructure on its territory.
The bridge will be over 1,400 meters long and will have two lanes and two sidewalks on both sides. It will be put into operation in 2025.
