A man was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after he was involved in a traffic accident in Chisinau's Telecentru micro-area. Traffic Police Division spokeswoman Dana Andronic told Info-Prim Neo that the 45-year-old man was struck by a Volkswagen-Transporter minibus when he was crossing Miorita St. Contacted by the Agency, Chisinau Ambulance Service coordinating doctor Anatol Proca said the victim suffered a rupture of the abdominal wall, a concussion, and other traumas. The ambulance was on the scene in several minutes. The man was operated shortly. A man aged 26 lost control of his Ford-Fiesta car, which skidded and went straight into a tree. He was admitted to the Rezina district hospital in a serious condition. A similar accident happened near Causeni town. A VAZ-21011 driven by a 61-year-old man skidded and crashed into a pole. The driver sustained a cranial-cerebral trauma, concussion and a thoracic contusion. Ten persons were injured in eight road accidents in Moldova yesterday and last night. Another 40 accidents caused no victims. The traffic police imposed 697 fines, 45 of which for traveling unbuckled, 117 for speeding and 10 for not stopping at the red traffic light.
