Road accident caused by intoxicated driver

A driver under the influence and without driver’s licence has caused an accident which got him injured and two means of transport damaged. According to inspector of the Traffic Security Service of the Chisinau Traffic Police, Ion Roscovanu, the accident occurred at 18.00, on Hancesti Blvd, 3, in Chisinau. The Hyundai automobile, driven by a man aged 40, came from the opposite direction and collided with a Mercedes-210 minibus, operating on no.169 route. As a result of the impact, the person who is to blame for the accident suffered head injuries. The investigations established that the man was driving the automobile under the influence and without driver’s licence. According to the legislation, he is liable to a fine of one thousand lei, being deprived of the right to drive means of transport for a 3-year period and will repair both units of transport. One traffic accident, which resulted in one injured person, and five accidents without victims were registered in Chisinau on May 1. Traffic inspectors detected 20 drivers under the influence.
