Power outages across Moldova are possible today and tomorrow, November 29 and 30, said Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development. According to the official, the risk persists due to the possible Russian massive missile strikes against Ukraine, IPN reports.
“In case of such a situation, all the state services are ready to intervene and restore the supply of electricity in the shortest time possible. I ask you to be vigilant and prepared,” stated Andrei Spînu.
On November 15 and 23, Moldova experiences extensive blackouts that lasted for several hours following the Russian attacks on the Ukrainian electricity system that is interconnected with Moldova’s system. According to the authorities, the interruptions occurred automatically to protect the overloaded power networks and stations or the electricity systems can be seriously affected and the interruptions will last longer.
