A number of 24 cases of flu have been recorded in the municipality of Chisinau since the start of the cold period. Another four persons are suspected of having caught the virus. In Monday's ordinary meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, the Health Division's head Luminita Suveica said the number of flu cases is lower than last year and there is little risk of a new epidemic, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Luminita Suveica, there are no reasons for concern especially because about 180,000 residents of Chisinau municipality have been vaccinated. The head of the Education, Youth and Sport Division Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said there was reported only one case of flu among kindergarten children. All the children with symptoms of cold are treated at home during at least seven days. Doctors recommend avoiding contact with flu-infected persons and seeing a doctor when the first flu symptoms appear. During the last 24 hours, the Chisinau Ambulance Service has dealt with over 120 cases of acute viral infection. Most of the flu cases this year have been recorded in Ungheni town.
