The successful performance of the Moldovan boxing team at the European Championship in Turkey continued. Alexandru Rishcan won the bronze medal in the 52kg category, and on Thursday, June 23, Veacheslav Gojan qualified into the 56kg final, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In the semifinals, Alexandru Rishcan was defeated by Wales’ Andrew Selby, 24-12.
Veacheslav Gojan eliminated Romanian boxer Razvan Andreiana in the semis, 12-9. This secured Gojan a silver medal at the least, a performance that he achieved at the 2002 European Championship as well.
