Revenues to mandatory health insurance fund up 3.6%

Revenues to the mandatory health insurance fund for the period January-August have totalled 1.3 billion lei, growing by 3.6% compared to the planned sum of 1.2 billion. A total sum of 1.9 billion was planned for the whole year. In the structure of the revenue, insurances paid by the state budget totalled 800 million lei, a sum that represents 100% of the predicted indicators, or 60.7% of the total revenue. Health insurances paid by employers and employees constituted 461.8 million lei, the sum growing by 4.8% compared to the planned one, representing 35% of the revenue. Fixed sum insurances paid by the natural persons and other structures constituted 31.02 million lei, representing 4.3% of the total revenue of the mandatory health insurance funds. Expenditures over this period totalled 1.16 billion lei, constituting 98.3% of the planned sum. 1.14 billion lei were allocated to cover the current medical services (98.3% of the planned sum); 89 thousand lei (0.3% of the predicted indicators) were allocated for prophylaxis measures; 6.7 million (21.1% of forecasts) – for emergency funds. Expenditures for administrating the National Company of Health insurance (CNAM) totalled 122.3 million lei, constituting 67.8% of the forecast sum. During the 8 months, CNAM covered medical services offered to the insured persons amounting to 1.11 billion lei, and compensated medicines for 26.9 million. The predicted sum for the medicines was 40.2 million lei. The health insurance system includes 116 medical and sanitary institutions and 134 pharmacies. The contracts signed with the medical and sanitary institutions totalled 1.7 billion lei.
