The draft budget of Chisinau municipality for 2019, which was discussed in public debates, provides for revenues of 2.2 billion lei (57.9% of the total budget) and an expenditure of 4.3 billion lei, with a deficit of 441 million lei, IPN reports.
The state taxes that will be paid into the municipal budget were projected at slightly over 1 million lei or 27.5% of the budget. The own incomes of the municipal budget estimated at 451 million lei (11.9%) are by 6% lower than the sum approved for 2018 and by 1.0% lower than the collected amounts. A sum of 77 million lei (2% of the budget) will be collected from pay services, while 14 million lei (0.4%) as rental paid on leased pubic property. The tax on the purchase of foreign currency paid by private individuals is to bring 12 million lei (0.3%) into the municipal budget. Compared with the provisions for 2018, the global budget revenues for 2019 are by 1.3% higher.
The forecast expenditure is by 4.9% higher than in 2018. A sum of 132.9 million lei will go to implement the Road Rehabilitation and Public Illumination Project, while 195.3 million lei for the Energy Efficiency Project.
The deficit of 441 million lei will be covered mainly with foreign and domestic loans.
