“Resurrection Bells” to ring in Palanca next day after Easter

The first paschal festival “Resurrection Bell” will be held in Palanca village of Calarasi district the next day after Easier. The event aims to promote sacred music and the paschal song and to develop domestic and inbound tourism by promoting folk customs and traditions.

Contacted by IPN, director of the Parents Home Museum Tatiana Popa said the event will involve artistic groups from a number of villages of Calarasi district and the abbot and monks of the Harjauca Monastery. Starting at 8am, the participants and invitees of the festival will be able to take part in the Divine Service at the wooden church “Assumption of the Virgin Marry”. The event will start afterward.

Besides master-classes by bell ringers, the program will also include an exhibition of icons and another one of bells, and a bell drawing and egg painting workshop. All the participants will be served with Easter cakes and red painted eggs.
