The results of the parallel vote count performed by the Promo-LEX observation mission for the presidential election of November 1 are close to the preliminary results announced by the Central Election Commission. In a news conference, the observation mission’s head Pavel Postica said the association’s observers counted in parallel the votes, except for the ballots cast at out-of-country polling stations and at stations intended for voters residing in the Transnistrian region.

The preliminary data of the CEC show Igor Dodon gained 32.6% of the vote, while the parallel vote count gives him 35.5%. Maia Sandu polled 36.1% of the ballot, according to the CEC, but according to the parallel vote count – 33.73%.

Renato Usatyi comes third with 16.9% according to the CEC and with 16.6% according to the parallel vote count.

Promo-Lex monitored 608 polling stations. They didn’t receive the vote report from a polling station, while the vote reports transmitted by 27 polling stations contain mistakes, said the observation mission’s head.
