The results of the correct expression contest “Test for everyone”, staged by the Chisinau City Hall and the Language Faculty of the State University of Moldova on the occasion of the Romanian Language Day, were made public on August 30. Almost 40 participants who scored at least 80 points of the 100 possible were awarded, IPN reports.

Irina Condrea, professor of the Language Faculty, said the contest involved 125 persons. The test consisted of four items. The tasks concerning emphasis and neologic synonyms turned out to be the most difficult ones.

One contender out of 125 scored 99 points of 100. The second and third positions were taken by contenders who scored 97 and, respectively, 95 points. Irina Condrea said the awardees are mainly students younger than 25. However, these included a man aged 70.

The names of winners were published on www.litere.md. Those who want to see their test can make a request to the Language Faculty starting with September 5.

The partners of the contest are the publishing houses Cartier, Arc, Stiinta, and Bestseller. These provide awards for the winners, such as books albums, CDs and e-Readers.
