Resident of Chisinau arrested for falsification of documents

A citizen of the capital was detained by the members of the Fraud Investigation Bureau, Buiucani, for documentation fraud and falsification. The man, aged 30, has become a specialist in falsifying driver’s licenses, as well as Moldovan and Romanian identity cards, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Press Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the suspect was caught in action, while being given the sum of MDL 500 lei a man wanting to obtain a false driver’s license. At the home of the suspect, the police officers found photo and video equipment, mechanisms, computers, printers and lasers for the production of diverse official documents. It was concluded that the man has been involved in such actions since 2006, finding clients via the internet as well as through announcements in newspapers.
Currently, the police are investigating the case in order to establish the circumstances as well as the persons involved. Along this case criminal proceedings were initiated in order to inquire into the manufacturing, sale and usage of the official documents, printers, stamps and false seals. If the man is found guilty, he risks a fine of approximately MDL 12 thousand or imprisonment from 1 to 5 years.
