Rescuers of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service will patrol the lakes, ponds and rivers all over the country on the weekend in order to prevent cases of drowning. They will urge the people to obey the safety rules and not to drink alcohol before swimming, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the Service, the State Hydrometeorology Service issued a yellow code advisory for heat for the period between August 8 and August 10 and then extended it until August 14. In this respect, the Service recommends strictly obeying the rules of conducts in water. The adults are strongly advised to supervise the children and not to allow them to go swimming by themselves.

A number of 37 persons have drowned in Moldova so far this summer. Seven of them were children.
