The Republic of Moldova is the largest beneficiary of the Association Agreement, and implicitly of the Free Trade Agreement, out of the three signatory countries of the Eastern Partnership. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, wrote on Facebook, quoted by IPN, that between 2013-2018, the Republic of Moldova benefited from the DCFTA provisions at a 60% level, Ukraine - at 20%, and Georgia - at 9%.

The minister refers to a study of analysts from the Berlin Economics Institute, which shows that the export of Moldovan products to the market of European states tripled during this period.

"Due to this strategic document, we were able to compensate for the losses in trade with other states and created jobs. If during this period the country had not been corrupt, we would have benefitted even more. But we will benefit more in the future by building Europe at home,” wrote Nicu Popescu. The Association Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union was signed on June 27, 2014 in Brussels, Belgium. The agreement was ratified by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova on July 2, 2014 and by the European Parliament on November 13, 2014.
