The Democratic Party will take part in the upcoming parliamentary elections independently and all the candidates who will be put on the party’s list and the candidates in single-member constituencies will be members of the party. The Party “Action and Solidarity” will run in the elections in a bloc with the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” and the applicants will go through several filters to be able to run on behalf of the bloc. The announcements were made in the talk show “Important” on TVC21 channel, IPN reports.
Democratic MP Eugen Nikiforchuk said the best representatives of the Democratic Party who enjoy the biggest trust in society according to the party’s internal polls will be fielded in single-member constituencies. “I can say with certitude that the most dignified candidates will be those of the PDM,” he stated.
The head of the Chisinau municipal organization of the Party “Action and Solidarity” Vladimir Bolea said a series of integrity and meritocracy filters decided in concert with the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” will be applied. Each claimant will have their activity and moral principles analyzed. “Meritocracy means the extent to which they became involved in the political struggle, how active they were inside the party and what posts they held,” stated Vladimir Bolea.
