A group of representatives of the clergy and Orthodox faithful called upon the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat to repent publicly of his ’sins’.

In a news conference at IPN on February 11, Oleg Moraru, bishop of the church from Secareni village of Hancesti district, said that the former Premier is a negative example for the whole society as he divorced and married another woman.

The participants in the conference leveled harsh criticism at Vlad Filat also because he promoted the rights of the homosexuals in the Law on Equality of Chances. The representatives of the mass media were accused of presenting the divorce and the second marriage of the former Prime Minister in a positive light, which can be considered electoral PR.

Roman Pintilie, bishop of the local church from Radoia, Sangerei, admitted that they didn’t get the consent of the Metropolitan Bishop for making these statements. But they decided to make them on their own responsibility in order to hinder the spread of sin.
