“About 200 politicians who ruled the country for 20 years should come together in the Great National Assembly Square and resign,” considers the initiative group of the Social-Political Movement “Democracy at Home” (SPMDH). In a statement made public by representatives of the new political organization in a news conference on March 22, the SPMDH says the political class should resign as the same persons succeeded each other in power during 20 years, Info-Prim Neo reports. The statement says the Moldovan people have been misled at every election as the authorities promised numerous advantages to them. “In reality, when making decisions the politicians took into account only the personal and clan interests.” The initiative group of the SPMDH accuses the present political class of the worsening of the political situation in Moldova, saying it should not be allowed to control the Government, the Parliament and other state institutions. “The SPMDH challenges the present politicians to a duel and urges the young people to say YES to a future and contribute to the creation of a new political class so that the young and intelligent people take over power in Moldova.” The Movement's representative Vasile Costiuc said the idea of founding a party of the youth came to his mind in 2007, when he was a member of the Liberal Party, which he left disappointed. He also said there are many young people who want to get involved in a new political organization and, therefore, they started to collect signatures. If it is registered with the Ministry of Justice, the party will be managed by persons younger than 35 and will take part in the early legislative elections. According to Costiuc, the SPMDH is ready to rule Moldova. It will select the persons who will head the Government, the ministries and other institutions according to principles of professionalism, not political criteria. The new Movement is financed by mates and persons working abroad. “Our mates support us financially in creating a joint front and conditions for them to be able to return home. We became mature and realized that we will not be able to escape from this morass if we do not detach ourselves from the old political class,” Vasile Costiuc said. Other representatives of the SPMDH said they will have their eyes on the new government, will make public all the mistakes committed by them and will pronounce on them.
