Representatives of the extraparliamentary parties complain that they are put in unequal conditions in the election campaign compared with the large parties. Such objections were formulated in the program “Politics” on TV 7 channel, IPN reports.

Nicolae Utica, who heads the Party for Nation and Country, said that following the call made by leaders of ruling parties to the smaller parties to withdraw from the electoral race, they found themselves in a disadvantaged situation. “The people say that if we take part in the elections, we will disperse the votes of the pro-European supporters. It’s known that the current government discredited itself and we consider that it is our duty to offer an alternative to the voters,” he stated.

The leader of the Party “Democracy at Home” Vasile Costiuc noted that winning the elections is not essential for the party he heads. “The participation in these elections for us represents a political exercise, a rehearsal for the local elections in which we will become involved more seriously and will promote non-discredited competent young people for posts of mayor and councilor. It would be a phenomenon for the country if we entered the future Parliament, especially because we are in unequal conditions compared with the ruling pro-European parties. Besides using the administrative resources, these monopolized the mass media and the financial sector so that we have practically no chances,” he said.

The program’s permanent invitee, political analyst Igor Botan said he welcomes the participation of the extraparliamentary parties in the electoral race. “The voters must have more options. I consider the small parties must take part in the elections. For example, the Party “Democracy at Home”, where the average age of the members does not exceed 30 years, allows the young people to assert themselves in politics without being promoted by influential persons. And the voters can appreciate this,” he stated.
