Businessman Renato Usatyi will take part in the November 30 legislative elections on the list of the “Motherland” Party that was registered on September 12, on the last day when the parties could register at the Ministry of Justice for being able to run in the elections, IPN reports.
In a news conference, Renato Usatyi said he will top the list of candidates and will be followed by the chairman of the “Motherland” Party Emilian Ciobu. Also, 2/3 of the candidates on the list will be from the unregistered party “Party of Renato Usatyi”.
The businessman stated that this party is the only one that does not have an uncertain past, wasn’t involved in dubious schemes and is a reliable party. “We will regain the people’s confidence and I assure you that we will enter Parliament and will hold 15-20 seats,” stated Renato Usatyi.
Emilian Ciobu said he created this party at the suggestion of young people who want a change in Moldova. The young people must remain in the country, not go abroad to look for a better future. That’s why the creation of workplaces is the most important point in the party’s electoral platform.
He added that details about the list and the platform will be made public later.
In February, Renato Usatyi attempted to register the party “Our Party”, but the Ministry of Justice rejected his application, arguing many of the signatures in favor of registering this party were suspected of being forged. In August, the businessman filed a new application to register the “Party of Renato Usatyi”, but unsuccessfully again.
