Renato Usatyi, who is running in the November 30 parliamentary elections, will stage concerts instead of broadcasting electoral advertisements on TV channels. He made the announcement in the program “Fourth power” on N4 TV channel, IPN reports.

The businessman believes that the electoral ads broadcast through TV channels are inefficient and costly. “I did some calculations and determined that I need about €2 million for such advertisements. Many people switch channels or go smoking when they advertise something on TV. Instead of giving this money to TV channels, I will better organize four-five concerts at a cost of €200,000,” stated the candidate.

Renato Usatyi revealed that he pays only 30% of the market price for concerts as most of the Russian singers giving the concerts are his friends. “I spoke to Stas Mihailov, who cancelled his tour to Israel owing to the armed conflicts there. He said he will come to sing on my birthday and will also give two-three concerts. The group “Blestyashchie” also agreed to come,” he stated.

Asked about the criminal case started against him over the alleged falsification of signatures collected for registering his party, the businessman said the law enforcement bodies fabricated the case and intimidated signatories to make statements against him. “People called me from villages and said that they were forced to make false statements against me,” he explained.

Renato Usatyi considers the current government is making everything possible to remove him from politics. “Until I remained far from politics, I was good and offered consultancy to parties. When I became involved in politics, they started to discredit me. But I’m a patriot. I even renounced the post of vice governor of a Russian region because I didn’t want to renounce Moldovan nationality,” he stated.
