Former Democratic MP Constantin Țuțu decided to surrender himself to the police in Moldova after reaching particular agreements with particular guarantees, the leader of the Our Party Renato Usatyi stated through Facebook Live, IPN reports.
“Țuțu surrendered himself as a result of agreements. He is the first “swallow” following the formation of the PSRM – PDM coalition. Yes, Țuțu will serve time in jail, but without the person whose name starts with “E”, this would have been impossible,” said Renato Usatyi, noting he will not yet reveal the whole name.
The politician reminded of the election campaign prior to the presidential elections of 2016, when Constantin Țuțu simply mocked at Igor Dodon while at a meeting with voters in Băcioi.
“How can Dodon feel after Țuțu, while having a meeting with voters in Băcioi during the election campaign of 2016, said: “Listen, Dodon, you’d better get onto a car and leave”. So, you understand that Țuțu wouldn’t have appeared now here without guarantees.”
According to Renato Usatyi, Constantin Țuțu begged to be brought to Moldova owing to the settling of old scores that started between Romanian criminal groups involved in cigarette smuggling and from which the former politician hide himself over the Prut.
Former MP Constantin Țuțu surrendered himself to the Moldovan police at the Leușeni-Albița customs post on March 27. The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office indicted him on charges of influence peddling and unjust enrichment. He will be in quarantine at home for 14 days and cannot leave the locality.
