The leader of the “Our Party” Renato Usatyi said that his removal from the electoral race in November 2014 serves as a reason for holding early parliamentary elections. He made such a statement in the talk show “In Depth” on PRO TV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.
“There is an irrevocable court decision showing that I didn’t use money from outside the country for the election campaign of 2014. If the Constitutional Court could review the constitutional provisions concerning the election of the head of state in Parliament, why shouldn’t it review the results of the 2014 elections? Some of the 101 MPs hold seats illegally. If I hadn’t been removed illegally from the electoral race before the elections, 20 seats of MP could have been held by other persons. I will file a challenge to the CC and we will mount protests,” stated the politician.
Renato Usatyi considers that the first deputy chairman of the Democratic Party Vladimir Plahotniuc uses the leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon to restore his relations with Russia. “Through the agency of Dodon, Plahotniuc hopes to improve his relations with Moscow, which worsened a long time ago. For the purpose, he intends to make Dodon head of state,” he said.
