The telephone conversations between the Liberal-Democratic leader Vlad Filat and the mayor of Orhei Ilan Shor were wiretapped by a spy program that costs at most US$300, the leader of the “Our Party” Renato Usatyi said in the talk show “Pahomi” on Realitatea TV channel, IPN reports.

“It is very simple. An application is sent to the phone number that interests us. If it is accepted, those who sent it can follow online all the conversations on this phone, no matter whether they are held in Viber, Skype or in an ordinary format,” stated the mayor of Balti.

He said he possesses wiretaps of other telephone conversations between Filat and Shor, but will publish them when time comes. He also has wiretaps of conversations of other politicians, including Valeriu Strelet, Vlad Plahotniuc, Mihai Ghimpu, and Iurie Leanca and he will make these public.

“I decided to wiretap the telephone conversations of Filat for personal security reasons and for the benefit of the Moldovan people so as to show who stole the billion,” explained Renato Usatyi.

In the evening of October 19, Renato Usaty made public wiretaps of telephone conversations that are allegedly between Filat and Shor. In the last conversation, Filat tells Shor that the situation went out of control and it’s not known what will be there in the October 15 sitting of Parliament (when Filat was deprived of parliamentary immunity and was then arrested – e.n.) and advises him to leave the country.

The wiretapping of telephone conversations is banned by law. Wiretapping is allowed only within criminal cases and can be performed by a specialized subdivision of the Security and Intelligence Service, based on a court order.
