After vehemently pleading against the European integration, Renato Usatyi stated that he is for Moldova following the path to the EU. He made the statement in the program “Politics” on TV7 channel, IPN reports.

Being the first on the list of candidates of the party “Patria” (“Motherland”), which includes a number of ardent supporters of the entry into the Customs Union, such as former Communist Grigore Petrenco and chairman of the Russian Youth League Igor Tuleantsev, Renato Usatyi said he asked them to temper their ambitions. “I asked them and even insisted respectfully that they do not disappoint me. My current position is: I support the Association Agreement with the EU. I do not understand what the Customs Union is. Theoretically, it’s clear. But I think it was founded as a counterbalance to the European integration,” stated Usatyi.

Though he is for the European integration, Usatyi said he will make a post election coalition not with the parties of the current government coalition, but with the Communists and will make effort to get rid of Voronin, as well as with the Socialists of Igor Dodon, with whom he has a particular plan.

Renato Usatyi also said that he will insist on the annulment of the right to double nationality and will be the first who will renounce the Russian nationality when the relevant legislation is adopted. His dream is to build the prototype of the Great Wall of China at the border with Romania. Inside it there will be shops, restaurants and casinos.
