The leader of the Party “Partidul Nostru” (“Our Party”) Renato Usatuyi, who is running for the post of mayor of Balti municipality, said the authorities will take measures for the peaceful protest by the Civic Platform ‘Dignity and Truth”, set for June 7, to degenerate into violence. He made such statements in the program “Friday with Anatolie Golea” on RTR Moldova channel, IPN reports.
According to Usatyi, instigators wearing T-shirts with the words “Partidul Nostru” will be infiltrated into the crowd. These will make everything possible for the protest to be transformed into public disorder so as to justify the involvement of the police. “Former employees of the Ministry of the Interior or the National Army are to be used as provocateurs. Over 500 instigators came from Romania especially for the purpose,” he stated.
He noted that the ruling parties, especially the leaders Vlad Filat and Vladimir Plahotniuc, pursue thus the goal of compromising the local elections. “They will make everything possible not to lose the power. They do not want local elections to take place as they know they will lose them. The riots will be used as a reason for declaring a state of emergency and postponing the local elections. The taking of trucks to the Great National Assembly Square by the Liberal Party is nothing else but a provocation planned by Plahotniuc,” said Renato Usatyi.
He also said that if this scenario does not work, the ruling parties will do their utmost for the party that he heads to be removed from the electoral race. “They will invent reasons to eliminate us from the race, as they did in the parliamentary elections. The Party of Socialists could also be removed. They know that “Partidul Nostru” and the Party of Socialists will poll 70% of the vote on June 14,” he stated.
In a press release, “Partidul Nostru” says they informed the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of the Interior, the Security and Intelligence Service and the Central Election Commission about the possible instigation of public disorder on June 7.
