Businessman Renato Usatyi announced he intends to create a new party after the Ministry of Justice refused to register the Our Party. The congress to constitute the new party, which will be named the Party of Renato Usatyi, will take place on August 23. It will involve over 5,000 people. In a news conference, Renato Usatyi said that if the Ministry of Justice refuses to register this new party as well, he will create a bloc with other parties, IPN reports.
Renato Usatyi is in litigation with the Ministry of Justice as the authority refused to register the Our Party this February. On June 30, the Appeals Court ruled in favor of the Ministry, but Renato Usatyi appealed the decision to the Supreme Court of Justice, which is to pronounce on August 20. The businessman said he was already phoned by politicians and public servants and warned that he will lose the case at the Supreme Court as well. “They do their utmost not to register our party so as to prevent us from taking part in elections,” stated Renato Usatyi.
He also said that he discussed with many representatives of embassies and international organizations, who assured him that they will monitor the registration of the second party.
According to him, the congress will be held in the open air on a stadium or on the territory of the exhibitions complex “Moldexpo” in Chisinau. Such foreign singers as Grigori Leps and Svetlana Sloboda will perform within the congress. The same day, Usatyi will take part in the unveiling of the monument to Russian singer Vladimir Vysotsky in Balti.
If the second party is not registered either, Renato Usatyi will form a bloc with other parties that are not yet well known. The businessman said he is not afraid of the 9% of the vote that they must poll to enter Parliament as he has a good rating and the people know him. “The people know that I will not disappoint them,” he stated.
Renato Usatyi said that according to his information, a number of criminal cases will be started against him by August 30.
