Renastere-Возрождение Party holds first congress

The political party Renastere-Возрождение (Renewal) assembled on Saturday for its founding congress to elect the party's leaders, Info-Prim Neo reports. MP Vadim Mishin opened the congress, welcoming the nearly 200 delegates gathered. He announced that the congress was to adopt the party's manifesto and statute. Mishin promised the attendees that no one would ever be told at any party meeting what language to speak. “If you like to talk in Moldovan, please do, and if you like to speak in Russian, no one will ever be against”, stated Vadim Mishin in his opening address. Ex-Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev, a top member of the congress' organizational committee, highlighted in his speech the necessity of creating this new party, saying that a new political force was needed to bring together the Moldovan society divided by numerous challenges and crises. The party's emblem features a flying stork whose wings are shaped as the outline of Moldova. Vadim Mishin and Vasile Tarlev announced the intention of creating a party together several weeks after the former's defection, alongside MPs Oleg Babenko and Tatiana Botnariuk, from the Communist Party in early June.
