The remunerations offered to the members of the Supervisory Board (SB) of “Teleradio-Moldova” Company (TRM) amounts to about MDL 2,000 per person for a meeting, and this fact is regarded by the experts as an element that might corrupt the 9 members of the Council. Economist Veaceslav Ionita, who decided to give up membership in SB, told Info-Prim Neo that he did not know about the sum he had to receive as a SB member. According to him, at the moment when the issue on the remuneration was debated, only the decision on offering honorariums was proposed to be voted. But the proposal was rejected after he said that such rewards for the meetings would be an “obvious bribe”. Referring to the sum of the remuneration, Ionita said he previously thought it was similar to the sum received till recently by the local councillors – MDL 54 per meeting. “It was only at the pay office that I found that the remuneration was higher than any of my expectations”, Ionita says. Veaceslav Ionita decided he would not go to get the next payment, mentioning that he might as well give up the first one, offering it to an orphanage. The Supervisory Board of “Teleradio-Moldova” Company has 9 members. According to the Audiovisual Code, 3 members were appointed for a period of 2 years – Alexandru Burean, Viorel Cibotaru and Veaceslav Ionita; other 3 members – for 3 years – Igor Munteanu, Victoria Mustata and Ludmila Barbus; and other 3 for a period of 4 years – Anatol Dubrovschi, Boris Focsa and Mariana Slapac. The majority of the members were voted by the Communist, Democrat and Christian-Democrat MPs, and a part of them – by unaffiliated MPs.
