Reintegration Bureau proposes constituting commission of inquiry into Oleg Horjan’s death

The Reintegration Policies Bureau notified the national law enforcement agencies with a view to investigating the murder of Transnistrian civic activist Oleg Horjan in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Moldova. It also suggested creating a neutral commission of inquiry under the auspices of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, which would travel to the scene to independently determine the circumstances of this case, IPN reports.

The Bureau condemns the criminal actions that endanger the life and health of people and offers its condolences to the grieving family and the close relatives of Oleg Horjan. “With special consternation, with learned about the violent death close to Tiraspol of the citizen of the Republic of Moldova Oleg Horjan, a civic activist from the left side of the Nistru,” noted the institution.

The former leader of the Transnistrian Communist Party, Oleg Horjan, who was earlier held illegally in Transnistrian jails, was found shot dead in his house in a locality situated close to Tiraspol, next to the empty, open safe.
