The Bureau for Reintegration Policy is sharing the concerns of the Roghi school administration over the impediments that appear to be created for this institution located in the Transnistrian region.

The school administration claims that Tiraspol, “for political reasons”, has been refusing to authorize road repair works in the area, which creates risks of landslides on the school’s territory.

Meanwhile, according to the Bureau, joint inspections at five Romanian-language schools that rent out their buildings in the Transnistrian region revealed that Lucian Blaga Lyceum in Tiraspol lacks a gymnasium. The de facto authorities in Tiraspol are asked to identify a solution in the best interest of the children studying there.

The absence of own buildings creates a less predictable educational environment and causes a series of difficulties for these Romanian-language schools located in the Transnistrian region, according to the Bureau. Otherwise, the inspections showed that, in terms of compliance with sanitary and fire safety rules, the schools are ready to start the new academic year.

The inspections took place on August 21 and 22 at the Constantin Sucitu Lyceum in Corjova village, the Roghi School in Dubăsari district, the Evrika Lyceum in the town of Rybnitsa, the Lucian Blaga Lyceum in Tiraspol, and at the Alexandru cel Bun Lyceum in Bender.
