The regulations concerning the Civil Budget in the municipality of Chisinau were approved in a new version, by the votes of 45 municipal councilors. A sum of at least 3 million lei will be allocated annually from the municipal budget for implementing the given regulations, IPN reports.
The regulations stipulate the general and procedural frameworks for submitting, assessing, selecting, implementing and monitoring projects of public interest initiated by citizens and financed with municipal funds.
Projects could be submitted during February 1 – February 28 each year. On March 30, the assessment commission wills analyze the projects and in April these will be put to the vote during 30 days. The implementation of the selected projects will start in May.
The Civil Budget is intended for all the citizens of the municipality of Chisinau who want to become involved in the development of the city. Projects can be filed individually or in a group by persons who turned 16 and who have the domicile in the municipality. The proposals should refer to urban infrastructure, urban mobility, cultural and social infrastructure, Smart City, Green Cities, local democracy, education, youth and sport, monitoring of activities of local public authorities.
The regulations take effect in 2021.
